A pickup truck driver towing a horse trailer allegedly
rear-ended another car and overturned the trailer late Saturday
night, and then fled the scene, leaving an injured horse behind,
according to authorities. The California Highway Patrol says the
driver of the pickup truck rear-ended another vehicle on southbound
Interstate 5 just after 10:00 p.m. Saturday. The driver lost control
and ended up in the highway median just south of the Sacramento
International Airport....

A driver and his passenger both died after their car
veered off Interstate 5 in Natomas early Saturday and slammed into a
tree before bursting into flames. The 24-year-old male driver was
traveling at a high rate of speed on northbound I-5 and getting off
at the West El Camino Avenue off-ramp in south Natomas around 2 a.m.
Saturday when the crash happened, CHP spokeswoman Lizz Dutton said.
